Shawn James Houston

Shawn James Houston, age 56, of Lithonia, Georgia, peacefully departed this life on March 15, 2026. Born on March 19, 1969, in Flint, Michigan, Shawn was the beloved son of Samuel and Lillian R. Houston. He was preceded in death by his father Samuel Houston and his paternal Grandparents Charles and Charline Houston and his Maternal Grandparents Willis and Louise Jackson, all of Flint Michigan.

Shawn was known for his warm spirit, strong presence, and deep love for his family. He had a natural ability to make people feel welcome and valued. Whether through a smile, a thoughtful word, or a moment of shared laughter, Shawn left a lasting impression on those who crossed his path.

Family was the cornerstone of Shawn’s life. His love and devotion will forever live on through his children, Ruquyyah Houston and Raven Houston, who were a constant source of pride and joy for him.

He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Brenda Billups, Saundra Houston, Pamela Houston-Nealy (Herman), Bradley Houston (Lucinda), Leslie Purdy (Tony), Christopher Houston (Marion), and Samuel Houston.

Shawn also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, strength, and presence.

Though his time with us feels far too short, his legacy of love, laughter, and family will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
