Rory Lyons

Roy, born on April 14, 1952, in Barnesville, GA, was sent to his eternal home on June 26, 2025, in Stockbridge, Ga. He was the beloved son of Joe Brown and Bernice Lyons.

Roy, as he was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Roy, survived by his loving daughters, Royalti, stepdaughters Tushanda Daniels and Wydrika Wayman Parks, stepson Gerald Daniels, his brother-in-law Curtis Bivins, nephew Johnny Lyons, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Roy was the cherished grandson of Robert and Cora Mae Lyons and the beloved sibling of Joann Bivins and Dennis Lyons. He also leaves behind one aunt and numerous cousins who adored him dearly. He was predeceased by his daughter, Royalti Dinkins.

After he graduated from Booker High School, Roy embarked on a mission to spread the message of love and hope. For nearly 15 years, he worked at American Sunroof as a sunroofer, and for his remaining years as a landscaper. His dedication to his faith and his desire to bring light to those in need epitomized his joyful and generous nature.

Roy found joy in gospel music, playing basketball, watching sports, and cowboy movies. He was a talented mechanic who helped many in Atlanta and surrounding cities. His love for family and friends was reflected in how he showed love to others and in how he treated everyone.

Those who knew Roy will remember him for his infectious smile and overwhelming laughter, his deep-rooted faith in Jesus, and his unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone he encountered. He had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.

The Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Rory Lyons will be held on July 18th, 2025, at 11:00 am at M.A. Boston Mortuary, 1259 Commercial Drive, Conyers, Ga 30094.

Although Roy's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. As you continue to worship Jesus up there, dear Roy, your light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.‍
