Rev. Kelvin Leroy Ford Sr. was born August 3, 1965, in Atlanta, Georgia (Fulton County), to the late Patrick H. Ford Sr. and Emma L. Ford. He was educated in the DeKalb County School District.
He answered the call to ministry through life's trials and became known for his spirited praise—earning the nickname "Shouting John." His passion for music and worship led him to serve faithfully under Bishop L. Jenkins at The Temple of Israel. He later ministered at Faith Mission Church, became Senior Pastor of Holy Anointed Church, and served as Co-Pastor of God's Little Acres alongside his mother, Rev. Emma Ford. Though personal challenges led him to step away from formal ministry, his faith remained steadfast. As his primary caregiver for over 10 years, his daughter ensured he lived life to the fullest with traveling, encouraging him to connect, and remain rooted in his calling. In his later years, Kelvin worshiped faithfully with Rivers of Living Waters Ministry under Pastor Willie Perrymond. On July 13, 2025, He peacefully entered his eternal rest. Rejoicing, knowing he is now with the Lord he sang about daily prayers too. He is survived by his wife: Dawn Brunson (Ford) , Gerron Brunson, Danielle Ford (Jamaine), Kelvin Ford Jr. (Shelita), and Xzavier Ford; seven grandchildren; siblings: Cynthia Smith (Robert), Lanier Ford (Cheryl), Grace Hall (Tony), and Gwendolyn Ford. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Patrick H. Ford Sr. and Emma L. Ford, and his late siblings Jerome Davis, Patrick H.Ford Jr., and Eve F. Martin. In addition:: he extended family acknowledging the Smith and Jenkins families, who stayed connected with his daughter, offering ongoing love, friendship and encouragement.
We will forever cherish the life and legacy of Rev. Kelvin L. Ford Sr. May his journey of faith, kindness, and perseverance continue to inspire us all to live with grace, compassion, and unwavering devotion.
