Hasan Boddie

Hasan Boddie, 29, a deeply loved father, husband, son, and friend, passed away on January 8, 2026. Born on August 12, 1996, to Carmen Flores and Fredrick Boddie, Hasan lived a life rooted in love, resilience, and purpose. His personal mantra, "Love is the key," was not just a saying, but the guiding force behind everything he did.

While attending Salem High School in Conyers, Georgia, Hasan's passion for football shined brightly. A standout athlete, he earned the nickname "Pac-Man" for his dynamic presence on the field. In the latter part of high school, Hasan suffered a devastating ankle injury and was told by doctors he would never play football again. Refusing to accept that limitation, he committed himself to rigorous self-directed physical therapy. Through discipline and determination, he made a full recovery and went on to earn the honor of playing in the All-Star Game at Martin Luther King Stadium—an achievement that reflected his unbreakable spirit.

After graduating from high school, Hasan attended Selma College in Alabama. During this time, he became involved in a young Black political party, which led him to the White House where he met several prominent figures, including the President. In 2019, Hasan answered a higher call to service by joining the United States Navy. He served as a Yeoman, received security clearance, and was honorably discharged in 2022.

While in the Navy, Hasan married the love of his life, Raquial Harvey, in 2021. From their union came two beautiful children, Nairobi Anu Boddie-El and Isaliyah Illyuwn Boddie-El, who were the center of his world. After leaving the service, Hasan continued to pour love into his family and community. He often served as a motivational speaker to youth, encouraging them to believe in themselves and push beyond limitations.

Hasan found joy in writing poetry and music, boxing, spending time in nature, and inspiring others through his words and actions. His presence was powerful, his heart genuine, and his love limitless.

Hasan will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His light will continue to live on and shine throughout time.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Raquial Harvey; his children, Nairobi Anu Boddie-El and Isaliyah Illyuwn Boddie-El; his parents, Carmen Flores and Fredrick Boddie; his stepfather, Zawadi Grazette; and his siblings: Eliyah Boddie, Delisa Boddie, Nanya Namtar Boddie-El, Malachi Boddie, and Omari Hargrove, along with a host of extended family, friends, and community members who will cherish his memory forever.
