Obituary

It is with profound sorrow and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Dr. Louise Yorke Moore on January 28, 2025. Born on April 18, 1940, in Patience Hill, Tobago, Dr. Moore touched the lives of everyone she encountered through her kindness, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. When you met Dr. Moore, you remembered Dr. Moore. Dr. Moore's career as a nurse and educator reflected her unwavering commitment to helping others. Her generous heart, keen sense of style, and natural ability to connect with people defined her both professionally and personally. Whether at work, with family, or in the community, she was a beacon of compassion, instilling a sense of purpose and care in every endeavor. A devout Christian, Dr. Moore's faith brought her comfort and strength. In quiet moments of reflection, she would sing the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13), a personal ritual that always provided her solace. She also found inspiration in Psalm 23 and was known for her memorable sense of style and vivaciousness. Dr. Moore is survived by her beloved children, Dihanne Moore and Michelle Lawrence, along with her cherished grandson, Michael Lawrence (son of Michelle and Herman Lawrence), and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her dear siblings, Albertine Yorke and Christine Yorke. She was preceded in death by her other siblings, Norris Yorke, Robert Yorke, Lenora Yorke, Leo Yorke, Abraham Yorke, and Winnifred Toby as well as her parents, Adam Yorke and Jane Nelson Yorke. Her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched will forever hold her memory close. A Memorial Service to celebrate Dr. Moore's life will be held on February 21, 2025, at M.A. Boston Mortuary, 1259 Commercial Drive SW, Conyers, GA 30094. In honoring her legacy, we invite all who were blessed by her kindness, wisdom, and spirit to join us in remembering a remarkable woman whose life continues to inspire. May Dr. Moore's memory live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and may we find comfort in the promise of eternal life and the guiding presence of the Holy Spirit. May her memory inspire us to live with love, purpose, and faith.
