Obituary

Leo Harris was born to the late James A. and Lucy (Gary) Harris in Sikeston, MO on September 1,1948.

Leo accepted christ at an early age at the church his maternal grandparents founded, Pilgram Rest MBC of Elkhart, IN , which is still operating under the leadership of Pastor Danny Brown and First Lady Martha Brown. He graduated from Elkhart High School. He worked as a machinest with Labour Pump. He enjoyed and cherished family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory and legacy, daughter Sherie R. Harris of Atlanta, GA. Son Christopher (Cyrstal) Harris of Elkhart, IN. Step mother Dorethia Harris of Chicago, IL. Sister Patricia A. Wilder of Columbus, SC, Christine Harris, Juanita Harris, and Diane Harris of Chicaco IL. Brothers Stanly (Alivia) Harris of Bellwood, IL, Kenneth Harris of Chicago, IL, and Derrick Harris of Grand Prairie, TX. Sister-in-laws Genevia, Betty, and Dorthy Harris, brother in law L.C. Gates all of Elkhart, IN. 4 step sons, 13 grandchildren, and 15 Great granchildren. Uncle Joe Henry (Luvada)Thompson of Milwaukee, WI, a host of neices, nephews, cousins, and friends. His eldest grand daughter Raynesha Harris aka "ugmo" and daughter-in-law, cared for PaPa/dad prior to his transition.

Leo was preceeded in death by son Maurice L Jones, Grandaughter Trinity Harris and great grandson Nolan Jones. Brothers James A. Harris Jr, Alonzo Harris and Joseph L Harris; sister Bessie D Gates, Ella L. Harris, and Delores Gates, Paternal Grandparents Louis and Luvenia Thompson; maternal grandparents who raise him after his mothers death, Victor and Leola (Haney) Gary.
