Estelle "Stella"
Pruitt Hardy
Nov 23, 1927 — Nov 4, 2024
Estelle "Stella" Pruitt Hardy, 96, much beloved wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and faithful friend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, November 4, 2024 in Conyers, Georgia.
She was born in Cassville, Georgia November 23, 1927 to Herman and Carrie Pruitt. She was raised on a farm with her siblings Kittie Emma, Herman (Tommy), Rosa Lee, Joel, Bobbie Mae, Johnson, and Alice.
She was preceded in death by her husband Percy David Hardy, Sr. They were married August 22, 1948. Estelle is survived by her children: Jimmy Hardy (Lana); Percy David Hardy, Jr.; Melessa Williams; and grandsons David Hardy, Daniel Hardy (Tiffany), and Usher Williams. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Estelle attended school in Bartow County, and after her mother died, she left school early to help care for her younger siblings and work on the farm. As an adult, she obtained her GED and nursing degree. Then she worked for many years as a valuable employee at Floyd County Medical Center. She also spent many years as an active member and Sunday School teacher at Christ Temple Holiness Church in Rome. With her husband, she helped establish the Community Bible Church in 1983 and served as First Lady. In her later years, she was a member of Greater Christ Temple Church in Atlanta, and she was active in the St. Paul Golden Age Center and served as Possum Queen in 2008.
She was friendly, loving, kind, and helpful to everyone she met. She was strong, hard working, funny, and God fearing. We will miss her beautiful smile and loving spirit.
Visitation will be held November 14, 3-6 P.M., at M.A. Boston Mortuary, 1259 Commercial Drive SW, Conyers, GA 30094. Her Celebration of Life will be held November 16, 1:00 P.M., at Greater Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1 Mt. Olive St., Cartersville, GA 30120.
