Obituary

With deep sorrow and overflowing love, we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, Delano Martin Jr., who entered eternal rest on April 9, 2025, at the tender age of fifteen.

Born on February 10, 2010, in Decatur, GA Delano Martin light shone brightly from the very beginning. With a heart full of compassion and a smile that could lift any spirit, he touched the lives of all who knew him. Whether he was roller skating, creating new fashion ideas, cracking jokes with friends, or offering a kind word to someone in need, Delano carried himself with warmth, wisdom, and authenticity beyond his years.

A proud student at Salem High School, Delano was known for his bright mind, big dreams, and gentle spirit. Delano was loved by teachers and classmates alike, remembered for his creativity, kindness, and quiet strength.

Delano is survived by his loving parents, Delano Martin Sr. and Vontysha Houston; his siblings, Candice Davis, Naquorea Richardson, Delana Jones, Chardaney Houston, Shernice Moore, A'Vonnist Houston, Vondell Houston, and Tysha Martin. grandparents, Elizabeth Webb; Aunt Surmitra Martin, Cousin Cashari Pendleton and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who adored him.

Though we are heartbroken, we rest in the hope and promise of God's word:

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." — Revelation 21:4 (NIV)

A celebration of Delano life will be held on April 15, 2025 at 11:30 AM EST, at M.A Boston Mortuary 1259 Commercial Drive SW, Conyers, GA, 30094. A visitation will take place prior to the service beginning at [Time].

We will miss him every day, but we will carry his light within us, always.

A Special Note from Titi Sumitra

My sweet DJ,

From the moment I first held you, I knew you were something special. You were the boy with the brightest eyes and the gentlest heart. You taught me so much about love just by being you. I will miss your warm hugs, your cool style, and the way you always made space for everyone to feel seen and loved. You were my sunshine on rainy days, my joy in ordinary moments.

This world feels dimmer without you, but I know Heaven gained a light even brighter. I will carry you with me always, in every sunrise, in every laugh, in every act of kindness. I love you forever and always, my beautiful nephew.
