Obituary

October 28th, 1976 – November 5th, 2024

Adrian, known to family and friends as Russell, passed away on November 5, 2024, in Decatur, GA, at the age of 48 from natural causes. His passing is a profound loss to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Russell was born and raised in Fort Pierce, FL, before relocating to the metro Atlanta area in 2014. He married the love of his life, Melissa, in 2009. Their story began much earlier, however, when they met and dated in high school. After reconnecting years later, the two became inseparable and ultimately spent 21 years together. Together, they shared and raised five children– four daughters and one son, creating a beautiful family filled with love and laughter.

Russell was a devoted husband, an exceptional father, and an even more extraordinary grandfather. Among their five children, Russell had nine grandchildren, each of whom he cherished deeply. He often spoke of his pride and love for his family, which was evident to anyone who knew him.

Music was another great passion in Russell's life. Known in the industry as "Science," he worked with numerous influential figures throughout his career. As the owner of record labels such as True Science Beats, Sleek Geek, and The Academy, Russell transformed his love for music into a lifelong pursuit. His home studio was his sanctuary, where he could often be found wearing headphones, with the bass turned up loud, completely immersed in his craft.

Russell was also an avid gamer. Whether on his Xbox or PC, he found joy in exploring virtual worlds and connecting with friends through his favorite games. His top pick was Black Desert Online, but he also had a deep affection for classics like Dark Age of Camelot.

He was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy as a child. At the age of 30, Russell faced his first major health challenge when he suffered a heart attack, followed by a stroke a year later. His resilience was tested time and again as he endured a total of five strokes and six heart attacks. In October 2023, after being placed on the transplant list, Russell received a new heart. Despite complications from the surgery that left him paralyzed, his determination and optimism never wavered. Russell returned home on December 19, 2023, and made the best recovery possible, supported by his unwavering spirit and the love of his family. Sadly, over the following year, his health declined, and he ultimately passed from lung failure.

No matter the challenges he faced, Russell's optimism and kindness never faltered. He brought light to every room he entered, always quick with a smile, a laugh, or a prank. He had an incredible ability to see the best in people and loved fiercely. The world is a little dimmer without him, but his legacy of love, resilience, and joy will live on through the family and friends who adored him.

Russell's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew him, and his impact on their lives will never be forgotten.
